Marvel Rivals Optimization Guide — Max FPS & Best Settings

The PC settings, upscaling, and system tweaks that get the most FPS out of Marvel Rivals on any hardware.

Last updated 2026-09-09 · evergreen reference

You don’t need a new GPU to make Marvel Rivals feel better — most gains come from the right in-game settings and upscaling. Below are our recommended presets, what each setting costs, and system tweaks that help every game.

Apply the "Competitive" preset if you play online; use "Quality" for single-player eye-candy.

GPU upscaling & frame generation

The single biggest modern lever.

DLSS / FSR / XeSS

All three reconstruct a lower internal resolution to your display res. Use Balanced for the best sharpness/perf trade-off; Performance when you need frames. Quality mode is near-native but costs FPS.

Frame Generation

NVIDIA FG / AMD AFMF double the on-screen FPS by interpolating frames. Great for 60→120; it adds a little input latency, so competitive players may prefer raw FPS.

V-Sync & Reflex

Turn V-Sync off and enable NVIDIA Reflex / AMD Anti-Lag to cut latency. Cap FPS 2–3 below your monitor refresh to avoid stutter.

System tweaks

Free performance outside the game.

Windows Game Mode & HAGS

Enable Game Mode and (for NVIDIA) Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling. They reduce background interference and lower latency.

Power plan

Set "High performance" (or "Balanced" with modern CPUs). Laptops on battery saver silently halve FPS.

Background apps

Close browsers, capture tools, and RGB software you don’t need. Each steals CPU and VRAM. Add the game to your antivirus whitelist.

RAM & XMP

Enable XMP/EXPO in BIOS so your RAM runs at rated speed — many prebuilds leave it at 2133 MHz, quietly capping FPS.

Expected FPS by hardware

Where your GPU likely lands.

Editorial FPS estimates

Editorial performance estimates at native/upscaled settings. Real FPS varies with CPU, RAM speed, drivers, and in-game scene complexity — verify with the in-game benchmark.
