Non-refundable cases
- Most in-game consumables and virtual currency once used or redeemed

- Third-party discs or codes bought outside the Microsoft Store
- Abusive refund patterns (the account may be limited)
Worth knowing
- Pre-orders can be cancelled up to 10 days before launch; after that, request a refund.
- Xbox Game Pass and other subscriptions are evaluated case-by-case; prorated refunds are possible in some cases.
How to request a refund
- Go to account.microsoft.com → “Services & subscriptions” (or the Xbox refund page)
- Find the purchase and select “Request a refund”
- Choose a reason from the dropdown and add details
- Submit — decisions are usually within 72 hours; approved refunds in 3–5 business days
