Account-ban appeal guides

Bans and penalties are decided by each platform’s own terms and support team. Below are the general steps that apply across storefronts, plus a printable appeal-letter template you can fill in and submit through the official channel.

Not legal, financial, or official advice. A ban appeal is a request to the platform, not a legal filing. This guide is an educational reference, not legal advice. If you believe a ban is unlawful in your region, consult the regional consumer-law pages and, if needed, a qualified professional.

General appeal steps

  1. Identify the exact account that was penalized (email / gamertag / ID) and the date.
  2. Read the reason given and the platform’s code of conduct or terms of service.
  3. Open a support ticket from the affected account — do not create a new account to evade a ban.
  4. Explain the facts calmly and specifically; attach evidence (receipts, screenshots, error codes).
  5. Request a review. Wait for the decision; appealing repeatedly with the same info rarely helps.

Chargebacks and bans. Disputing a charge with your bank (a chargeback) after a ban can itself trigger or extend an account suspension on some platforms (Riot states this explicitly). Exhaust the platform’s appeal first unless you suspect fraud.
