About & methodology

Why PlayStan exists, how we build it, and the limits of what it can tell you.

Not legal, financial, or official advice. The information on this page is an educational consumer reference, verified 2026-08-16 from public platform policies and consumer-law sources. Platform policies and laws change — always confirm with the platform, your card issuer, or a qualified professional before acting.

What PlayStan is

PlayStan is an independent consumer-help reference for video-game refunds, account-dispute appeals, and chargeback guidance. It was prepared by the consumer-help editorial team as a public-interest reference — there are no named individual “experts,” and no part of this site is a substitute for the platform’s own support, your card issuer, or a qualified professional.

How we build the data

  • Every platform window, non-refundable case, and step is summarized from the platform’s official policy.
  • Regional pages summarize statutory consumer-law rights from official government and consumer-protection sources.
  • Each page carries a source link and the retrieval date so you can verify before acting.
  • We never fabricate a policy detail. Where a rule is uncertain or varies (for example, Nintendo’s region split), we say so and link the official policy.
