Non-refundable cases
- Downloaded games and DLC (North America)
- Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions (no prorated refund)
- Pre-ordered content once payment is taken / downloaded
- In-game currency
Worth knowing
- Pre-orders can be cancelled before payment is taken (payment is taken ~7 days before release).
- Defective games may be refunded case-by-case in North America, but this is rare and not guaranteed.
- Australian Consumer Law can override the “all sales final” stance for faulty or misdescribed content.
How to request a refund
- North America: contact Nintendo Support for defective-content exceptions only
- EU/UK: use the online “Cancel contract” function in your Nintendo Account, or email support within 14 days
- State clearly that you are exercising your right of withdrawal
