Destiny 2 is a loot-and-shoot where your Power level and a coherent build matter more than raw aim. Here’s how to climb efficiently.

These are our editor’s practical, reproducible tips — no exploits, no external tools, just better play on a normal PC.

Light Level & Builds

The essentials for Destiny 2.

Power grind path

Prioritize Pinnacle rewards (8/week) over regular drops — only Pinnacles raise your hard cap. Do the weekly campaign/raid rotation first.

Build the trifecta

Pick a damage type, a central exotic, and one or two armor mods that synergize (e.g., Void + Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk + volatile rounds). One strong build beats five half-built ones.

Weekly routine

Unlock vendor ranks for powerful gear, run the weekly Storm/Astral for exotics, and farm a single target farm (e.g., Grasp) for a specific weapon you want to craft.
